Camp Blue is an approved child care provider with the Australian Government.
The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is our regulatory authority, and our service approvals are guided by the National Quality Framework.
Our day camp programs are underpinned by the principles and outcomes of the My Time Our Place (MTOP) Framework for School Age Care in Australia.
All operational policies and procedures are developed in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Laws and Regulations:
All our staff are First Aid and CPR certified. If your child is unwell or is in need of a doctor you will be notified to arrange collection as soon as possible.
Yes – you don’t need to be a student or affiliated with the school to be a camper.
Yes! To us camp is not only about learning and having fun, but also making new friends. Our background is from USA camps where many children come to camp not knowing anyone. We place emphasis on all campers mingling and getting to know their fellow campers, and will do many activities throughout the week so your child can make new friends at camp.
Our overall staff to child ratio is 1:10, so each child will receive the individual attention they need to connect with their peers, learn skills and generally feel supported.
Our staff undergo extensive training prior to camp, and are hired due to their amazing personalities combined with a genuine love of children and teaching. You can’t beat our staff – they rock!
Your child should dress appropriately for the activities they will be doing and the weather on the day.
At our Manly, Stanmore and Melbourne Camps, children will need to bring morning tea every day and lunch for Monday – Thursday. Afternoon tea is provided each day along with a BBQ lunch on Fridays.
At our Gold Coast Camp, children will need to bring all their food with them.
A packing list will be provided for children enrolled to our Overnight Camps.
Depending on your child’s activity assignments, they may require their own activity-specific equipment (e.g. swimmers and a towel for water activities; camera for Photography, etc.).
Camp Blue is “Unplugged” – meaning we want campers to turn off from the day to day technology that is so readily available, and connect with the outside and the people around them. Electrical devices aren’t permitted at Camp Blue and will be held in the office if they are brought to camp. If children need to bring a mobile phone to and from camp, they may hand them into the office when they arrive and collect at the end of the day.
This is the specially designed program at our school-aged day camps for Kindergarten (NSW) and Prep (VIC) children. The activity schedule is pre-programmed for all Little Blue campers to enjoy together as a group, providing them consistency, enhancing their development of strong social connections and to expose them to a wide variety of what Camp has to offer.
